Will and Probate Services, an estate planning law firm based in Market Deeping, have been awarded ‘Trusted Partner’ status by Co-Op Central England Funeralcare opening up a massive new market opportunity for this local company.

Established in 2006 by Managing Director, Nicholas Ash, Will and Probate Services started life as a two-person team in a small office in their local business centre, providing Will writing and probate services to the area. Fast-forward 14 years and ‘WAPS’ as it is affectionately called by staff, now has a core team of a dozen members with branches in Peterborough, Manchester, Harrogate, Surrey and Cambridge.

‘My mission fourteen years ago was to be the best known, most trusted legal brand in the UK’ says Nick. ‘Over the years, we have invested in our staff so they can offer advice not only on general Wills but also in specialist areas such as blended families, Islamic Wills and planning for the parents of children with disabilities.’

Nicholas adds “To be given Trusted Partner status by one of the UK’s best-loved brands is a huge step towards our goals.” Asked on what this means for the business Nick says “This means Co-op Central England Funeral will be relying on us to serve all their members who require estate planning and administration across the Midlands, we expect to håave a very busy 2021!”

Central England Co-operative is one of the largest independent retailers in the UK, with over 400 trading outlets including more than 250 foodstores, 100-plus funeral homes, filling stations, post offices and florists. Co-op Funeralcare currently handles 14,800 funeral arrangements per year through its branch network. The new ‘Trusted Partner’ status awarded to Will and Probate Services will enable them to deliver Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Estate Administration services from each Co-op outlet.

Asked the secret to the success of WAPS Nick reveals, “Regular professional and personal development of myself and my staff has always been at the core of our business. To offer the best service I made sure we were the forerunners in the field of estate planning”.  He adds “There aren’t many law firms whose three key values are ‘Give a Sh*t’, ‘Do Great Work’, and ‘Don’t be an A***hole’ but there probably should be.’
