One of the most common questions i’m asked is ‘Do I have to make a Will’? Of course the answer is yes! Most people over the age of eighteen will own something that would need to be given to someone else when they died.

Without a Will you are subject to something called the Laws of Intestacy, where the government have laid down who will inherit what you owe, most of us wouldn’t want that to happen.

Even if you’ve only got life insurance or a pension scheme at work you need to make a Will. If you have children, making a Will is really, really important. Making a Will is the only way you can appoint guardians for your children if something happed to you and your partner.

If you’re married, making a Will is critical because it’s the only way you can inherit from your partner if something happened to them. When you’re getting married is a good time to make a Will, or if you’re buying a property, this is also a good time to make a Will.

Making a Will is simple but there are a number of things to consider, and over the course of the next few videos, I will walk you through each step of the process. Once the process is done you will have a legal document that protects you, your loved-one’s and your family if you die.
